The CAN DO Community Foundation Award at Penn State Hazleton is awarded annually at the annual Highacres Society Dinner. This scholarship honors and recognizes outstanding academic achievement by an undergraduate student enrolled in the baccalaureate degree in business at the Hazleton campus of Penn State University.
The scholarship is specifically designated for a student from Greater Hazleton. Full- and part-time students who have attained high academic achievement at the end of their second semester are considered for the award. Continuing education students receive special consideration.
The CAN DO Community Foundation Award is given for one academic year, and a recipient is able to be considered for the scholarship again through continued academic achievement. The Penn State Hazleton Scholarship Commitee selects the recipients of the scholarship.
The 2013-14 recipients of the scholarship were Marsha R. Murphy, Brittney A. Saccketti, Amanda L. Spitzer and Victoria M. Vetter.
The 2014-15 recipients of the scholarship were Jennifer Sando, Ariardys Taveras and Victoria Vetter.
