The CAN DO Community Foundation was established in 1992 to serve as the philanthropic arm of CAN DO and support worthwhile community projects that make a difference in improving the Greater Hazleton community.
The scholarship is specifically designated for a student from Greater Hazleton. Full- and part-time students who have attained high academic achievement at the end of their second semester are considered for the award. Continuing education students receive special consideration.
The CANDO Community Foundation continues to grow its assets and the endowment has grown from numerous sources including the donation of real estate, individual and corporate gifts, trust beneficiary, memorial donations, foundations, and investment income. The foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of CAN DO and supports worthwhile community projects making a difference and improving the greater Hazleton community.
The scholarship programs have become an objective of the foundation, augmenting projects that focus on improving the quality of life in the Greater Hazleton community through conservation, preservation and reclamation (CPR) breathing new life into the community.
