CAN DO Community Foundation 2021 fund drive for Ferrwood Music Camp in full swing

The CAN DO Community Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that supports community projects throughout Greater Hazleton, is in full swing with its annual fund drive. This year’s proceeds will benefit the re-creation of a turn-of-the-century-designed band shell combined with contemporary acoustics and sound as well as the development of ADA-compliant restrooms.

The CAN DO Community Foundation’s Board of Directors recently held its annual meeting at Ferrwood Camp in Drums. The board discussed the progress of its many ongoing projects and heard of the recipients of several scholarships it awards annually.

CAN DO Community Foundation announces start of 2021 fund drive

The CAN DO Community Foundation announced the kickoff of its 2021 fund drive, which will continue its restoration journey at Ferrwood Music Camp with bandshell upgrades as the beneficiary of the proceeds.

Ferrwood Music Camp “Thank You” Breakfast and Blessing

On Friday morning at Ferrwood Music Camp a “thank you” breakfast was held recognizing the many individuals who were involved in replacing the kitchen that became obsolete. A photo was circulated showing the griddle refusing to warm up as a few hundred pancakes were waiting to be prepared! At the invitation of Phil Latella, music camp director and chef, a “maiden” breakfast was prepared as an expression of thanks to fellow volunteers and the CAN DO Community Foundation.  Board member Chris Stamatopoulos mentioned, “there are so many known and unknown people who have taken part in this project that became much more complicated than ever imagined”. Phil was assisted by a volunteer kitchen crew that return for every camp.

CAN DO Community Foundation Reaches Annual Fund Drive Goal

The CAN DO Community Foundation’s Annual Fund Drive Chairman, Earl C. Berger, is pleased to announce that the foundation reached its 2020 fund drive goal. The proceeds are benefiting the Ferrwood Music Camp.
