CAN DO Community Foundation awards Brittney Saccketti annual scholarship

The CAN DO Community Foundation awarded Brittney Saccketti a scholarship as part of the foundation’s annual scholarship program.

Saccketti is a senior business major at Penn State Hazleton. A 2011 Hazleton Area High School graduate, she is the daughter of Patricia and Albert Saccketti, Freeland, and is employed part time.

The CAN DO Community Foundation Scholarship was established in 2004 with the objective of supporting students in advancing their educational goals. The foundation aims to nurture young individuals to give back to their community as members in their respective fields and to establish their civic interests.

CAN DO Community Foundation presents scholarship to Marielle Lithgow

The CAN DO Community Foundation awarded one of its annual scholarships to Marielle Lithgow of Hazleton as the foundation furthers its objective to help college students advance their educational goals.

Lithgow is a sophomore information sciences and technology major at Penn State Hazleton. She is the daughter of Mario Lithgow and Clariza Madera, Hazleton, and a member of the Hazleton Area High School Class of 2014.

The CAN DO Community Foundation Scholarship honors and recognizes outstanding academic achievement by an undergraduate student enrolled at the Hazleton campus of Penn State University. It is awarded annually at the Highacres Society Dinner.

Aaron Kacyon selected as CAN DO Community Foundation Scholarship recipient

Aaron Kacyon was selected as a CAN DO Community Foundation Scholarship recipient in continuation of the foundation’s recognition of college students in Greater Hazleton.

Kacyon is a junior at Penn State Hazleton majoring in information sciences and technology. He is the son of Sherry and Brian Kacyon, Fern Glen.

The CAN DO Community Foundation was established in 1992 to serve as the philanthropic arm of CAN DO and support worthwhile community projects that make a difference in improving the Greater Hazleton community.

Madeline Vetter receives CAN DO Community Foundation Scholarship

Madeline Vetter recently received a CAN DO Community Foundation Scholarship in recognition of the foundation’s annual support of local college students.

Vetter is the daughter of Dawn and Harry Vetter, Hazleton, and a 2015 Marian High School graduate. A first-year student at Penn State Hazleton, Vetter is studying in the university’s Division of Undergraduate Studies program.

CAN DO Community Foundation sponsors Sheppton Mine Disaster and Rescue marker

The CAN DO Community Foundation sponsored a historical marker at the Sheppton Mine Disaster and Rescue site to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the day two coal miners trapped in a mine cave-in were rescued.
